Spring Break Road Trip

The kids had a week off for Spring Break, which in my mind means time for a road trip! Keith could take off a few days and didn't want to go anywhere to cold. So I looked at the map and scoured the internet and we decided on Pinetop, Arizona. It is about a four hour drive from here so it was just about the right drive for a three day trip. We loaded everybody up On Monday morning a headed out. We made a stop for lunch in Pie Town, New Mexico, of course they are famous for their pie. We ate at the Pie-O-Neer and it was yummy! Keith had blueberry Pie and I had Apple Cranberry Pie with a crumble topping. To get to Pie Town we drove over a dirt road for about 30 miles. There were a lot of little hills along the way so it was like riding a roller coaster. The kids had so much fun and thought it was the most best road they had ever been on!
We got to Pinetop and checked into our cabin. They had a little playground and the kids played on that for hours. There was a nice little lake about a mile walk from our cabin and we played there and did several hikes around the lake. We grilled hamburgers and made s'mores. One day we went into town for pizza. On the way home we drove through Snowflake, Arizona because we wanted to see the Temple. It is really beautiful and we walked around and took some pictures. The drive home went well. It was a nice, low key trip.
