We just had our first of many Pine Wood Derby's! Caleb was pretty excited about the whole thing, I think that Keith was as well. Caleb picked out the design that he wanted and Keith helped him make the cuts and drill the holes. Caleb painted the car and they got it all weighed to specs. We got to the race night and upon inspection discovered that his front end was not an accepted design so he had to put some tape on it. It did not seem to affect the performance, just the aesthetics! Caleb ended up placing third overall and second in his Den. He was one happy little Boy Scout. We had a lot of fun watching all the cars race. Here's to 10 more years of building Pine Wood Derby Cars!

That is the memory of cub scouts they will take with them throughout all their days....pinewood derby
