The Eclipse Is So Bright, We Gotta Wear Shades!

This year was a big Solar Eclipse and the best spot to to see it just so happened to be in Albuquerque, NM.  We felt pretty excited about that.  Keith ordered solar glasses so that we could all watch it.  We went out onto the Mesa so we would have a nice unobstructed view.  We got there about 30 minutes before the eclipse first started.  It was really cool to see the moon begin to move in front of the sun.  It took about an hour for it to fully eclipse. There were several people out looking as well.  Some had fancy cameras and others had made their own viewer.  It was so interesting that when the sun was fully eclipsed, it got quite dark out.  I hadn't really thought about it beforehand, but I guess it makes sense that it will get darker when the sun is blocked!   The kids, especially Ella, loved visiting with everyone that was out there. Since an eclipse won't happen again for decades, it was pretty cool to be able to experience it!
