Cruise day 4

Today we had a port day in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We booked a shore excursion to ride the rain forest canopy sky lift, ride the Jamaican bobsled and hike the Dunn's River Falls. A shuttle bus picked us up at the dock and drove us tot he canopy and bobsled rides. Riding in a bus in Jamaica was an interesting experience, the shuttle is a really nice Toyota van that holds about 20 people. They drive on the other side of the road so it takes a bit getting used to watching them pull out in front of oncoming traffic. They also honk at everybody and drive quite fast for such congested streets! I am just glad that someone else was doing the driving! First we rode the sky lift through the Rain Forest canopy, it was so peaceful and beautiful. You could look out and see the ocean, it was amazing. We climbed to the top of the mountain and then we rode the bobsled. It was so much fun that we decided to pay for another ride. This time Keith and I went together, it was such a rush. We got back on the shuttle and rode over to Dunn's River Falls. The Falls are these gradual waterfalls to go for over 600 feet. You start at the bottom and climb to the top. It was really beautiful, but a little crowded. We didn't realize how wet you get and so we wore our regular clothes. Needless to say, we were soaked but we had an awesome time anyway. After that we shopped a bit in town but we did not stay too long. People were always pressuring you to buy things and it made us feel a bit uncomfortable. We headed back to the ship to get ready for the evening. We had dinner and then went to a comedy show in the Theater. This time it was "The Second City" comedy troupe out of Chicago. Most famous comedians got their start there. They did sketch comedy and it was so funny! Then we headed up to the Spinaker Lounge to watch the "Not so Newlywed" game. They pulled three couples out of the audience, it was pretty funny to watch. Then we went out by the pool to dance at the Caribbean Dance Party. Keith got tricked into a competition and won. It was such a fun night. Of course after such a long day we were exhausted. We stopped for our usual ice cream and then crashed int he room.!

This is just one small portion of the Falls you hike, it goes on for 600 feet.
