Labor Day-Taos

Kind of last minute, we decided to go on a little road trip up North to Taos and Red River.  We got up Saturday morning and drove up there.  We ate lunch at Sonic and then checked into our Hotel.  I didn't realize that there was a swimming Pool, so we quickly ran to the store and picked up some suits for the girls and Keith, the boys just wore their sport shorts.  We got a pretty nice bargain getting a four suits for $3!  After that, we drove to Taos Pueblo to tour it.  It is a living Heritage site because residents still occupy the Pueblo, in fact it has been inhabited for over 1000 years!  We took a tour of the Pueblo and learned a bit about the history of the area and the people.  It was a bit hot out and there was not a lot of shade so by the end we were ready to go.   Then we headed back to the Hotel and Naomi took a nap while the others went swimming.  After that we got ready and took the kids tot his really amazing toy store called Twirl.  And when I say amazing, I mean AMAZING!  They have an incredible selection of toys and a huge playground int he back that is free.  The kids played for over an hour and had such a great time. When finally left when the place closed.  We ate dinner and then headed back to the Hotel for some more swimming.  Needless to say, everybody slept really well that night, which was a good thing seeing as all seven of us were staying in one room!
