I Left My Heart in San Francisco-Half Moon Bay and The Japanese Garden

Monday was was supposed to be nice and sunny, so we decided to head out the Half Moon Bay so the kids could see the ocean and the beach. It rained! The drive out to Half Moon Bay started out sunny, then turned to a drizzly rain with major fog, it looked like we were driving through a tropical rain forest. The kids were really excited to see the ocean and the beach, although I don't think it exactly lived up to their expectations. A rainy, foggy day is probably not the best type of weather for your first beach experience. We walked on the beach briefly, strolled the pier to check out the boats, and had some yummy seafood. We asked the advice of a local fisherman and his recommendation was fantastic! Then we went to some of the shops on Main Street, they were filled with lots of neat things and grouchy proprietors! We headed back into town to check out a Japanese Garden. Hilary had heard is was really nice so we were excited to check it out with her. The garden was beautiful and so peaceful. You would never know that you were surrounded by a city with millions of people. I have to say that designing a Japanese garden really is a work of art. The kids loved walking around and checking out all the different surroundings. That evening we went for pizza at a local place, it was really good, they even had green chili!
