Big Sur

On Sunday we attended church in the morning. Then we went back to our hotel and changed. We went shopping the night before and picked up food for all of our meals. We loaded up the car and drove down to Big Sur along Highway 1. It goes along the coast and is considered one of the most scenic drives in the U.S. I have to say we agree, it was absolutely breathtaking. We drove about 30 miles down the coast and marveled at the different terrain, from the sandy beach, rocky cliffs and ocean on the west side to the forest on the east side of the road. We had a picnic lunch a Pfeiffer Beach and it was windy but beautiful.

The famous Bixby Bridge
We drove over this one as well as several other similar bridges. The coast looks like this the whole way, it is spectacular!

Wow! That is an impressive view. It makes me want to take that drive along the highway also. I have to say that Keith looks like he has been photo shopped into that picture, it is so bright.
