The National Endowment for the Arts is sponsoring "The Big Read". It is a program to get people reading. Each state chooses a book for everyone to read. New Mexico has one of the largest participation and is reading Tom Sawyer. They had the big kickoff event at the Nature Center and gave away free copies. They had all sorts of fun events and activities for the kids. All year long they will also have activities. I have been reading Tom Sawyer to the kids and they enjoy it, but the writing style is a bit over their heads. I am trying to track down a more kid friendly version.

Let me know if you find a more kid friendly version--that would be interesting to read. The kids are growing and are so cute. Hope you are all well and getting some rest every now and then.
